What? Use this form if you are seeking reappraisal/reconsideration of a final grade.
-For a grade reappraisal there is a $30 non-refundable administrative fee, unless the appraisal results in a higher grade. Choose this option to have specific, tangible piece(s) of work reappraised. You must identify, in detail, the academic grounds on which your request is based.
-For a grade reconsideration there is no fee and supporting documentation must be attached. The Office of the Registrar will forward the completed form to the Dean responsible for reassessing the grade.
Definitions:
-Reappraisal (academic grounds) - You wish to have a specific, tangible piece of work reappraised. You must identify, in detail, the academic grounds on which your request is based.
-Reconsideration (non-academic grounds) - Your academic performance was affected by significant extenuating circumstances beyond your control and you wish to have your grade reconsidered based on these grounds. Extenuating circumstances involve a significant physical or psychological event that is beyond a student's control and debilitating to their academic performance. Evidence of these kinds of extraordinary situations should include official documentation from an appropriate professional.
Who? This form must be completed by the student. The grounds for the reappraisal/reconsideration, including the remedy being sought must be provided and supporting documents must be attached. You are strongly encouraged to read the Final Grade Reappraisal/Reconsideration Policy and Procedure.
When? Completed applications must be submitted no later than 10 business days after the release of the final grade: Summer 2024: Friday August 30, 2024
The processing time for grade reappraisals/reconsiderations depends on the nature of the reappraisal/reconsideration and the faculty involved. The aim is to have a decision made within 20 business days of the committee receiving your application.
